Riley had a dentist appointment on Monday, August 8th. We were told not to worry too much about dentist appointments yet unless we had concern. Well, the day Tim had surgery we noticed a 5th front tooth coming in, so we called and made an appointment. We went with a dentist that came highly recommended and was around the corner from our house. He was GREAT! Riley got to play on the chair, bring a mirror home, got a balloon and a toy. He took a look and said yep she had a 5th tooth. It is common and is fine unless it is going up toward the nose, which it is not. We took x-rays with her in my lap and a little struggle and found that she only has 4 front permanent teeth and the 5 baby teeth should not effect the way they grow in...so we are leaving it alone and going back in every 6 months to keep an eye on it and get her used to the dentist. In the meantime, she has been super cranky because the 5th tooth is coming in and pushing the others around...OUCH...oh and she is getting all 4 molars at the same time. Fun for nurse Becky to Tim and teething Riley...
